Hi, I’m Zainab Aderinwale

Some people start their lives with numerous advantages, but in my case, I faced a multitude of both easy and challenging struggles right from my childhood, and yet I managed to overcome them. One of the most difficult hurdles I faced with my family was illiteracy and poverty. Illiteracy refers to the inability to read or write.

During my childhood years, I was illiterate until I started living with my parents. It was during this time that I had the opportunity to develop myself. I began by learning the alphabet, and simple sentences, and gradually progressed.

At the age of thirteen, I embarked on my journey of literacy, and by the age of twenty-two, I had earned my first degree.

Growing up without my parents for over the first decade of my life deprived me of access to quality education, clothing, food, protection, and love. I was bullied, abused, and emotionally and physically neglected. Despite facing numerous struggles and obstacles meant to weigh me down, I remained optimistic and focused on the bright side. These challenges were placed in my path to make me stronger.

During the toughest times, I keep everything to myself, finding ways to uplift and motivate myself without depending on others. Even when everything seems to be falling apart, I stand bold, strong, and courageous, ready to overcome any adversity. I've experienced harder times before, so I know I can handle whatever comes my way. There's no reason to be pessimistic and bring me down. Hard times are temporary, and they only serve to make me stronger and a better person.

Driven by my desire to share my experiences, knowledge, and personal stories of struggle and setbacks, I aim to help others overcome challenges, discover their potential, and achieve success in their personal and professional lives. Sharing my personal stories allows me to connect with young individuals who may be facing similar difficulties. Through my journey, I hope to provide hope, encouragement, and practical strategies for overcoming adversity. By delivering motivational speeches, I aspire to ignite the spark within others, empowering them to pursue their dreams and make positive impacts in their lives and communities. I firmly believe in the potential of young minds to create meaningful change, and I want to be a catalyst for that change.

My life experiences have shaped my interest in raising awareness, advocating for change, and supporting initiatives that promote gender equality and women's empowerment. I am committed to continuous learning and to supporting and advocating for women's rights. I aim to challenge and address the obstacles women face, including discrimination, inequality, limited access to education, lack of representation and voice, gender-based violence, sexual harassment, and gender bias.

Achievements
My profile has been featured in the magazine "Young Female Leader" by Ladies in Business Magazine Global, December 2021 edition, and "Champions of Youth Advocacy & Humanitarian Extraordinaire" by Sail Women Magazine, October 2019 4th edition, in recognition of my excellent performance.

I have appeared on various TV shows, including Hi-Impact TV's "Tea and Coffee" on International Women's Day, where I spoke about Women's Inclusion and breaking biases for accessing socio-economic opportunities available to men. I also participated in the Lagos State TV's "Inclusion for Democracy" event organized by the European Union, discussing Nigeria Youths in Politics, among others.

I have received several awards, including the "Top Young Female Leaders Category" at the SHE Awards by Ladies in Business Magazine Global in March 2022. Additionally, I was honoured with the "Award of Excellence" by His Royal Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife, for my significant contributions to women's development over the years.

The world needs young people who see themselves not as victims of a failed nation but as solutions to the problems they face.
